About
Blush Blooms is for those looking for beautiful, local, seasonal flowers that are grown not flown.
I grow a unique mix of specialty cut flowers and foliage. The blooms I choose to grow are a part of a carefully thought out crop plan and color palette. The flowers in all of my designs are gathered from the freshest my field has to offer.
I am committed to upholding sustainable growing practices:
growing seasonally, following the flower's natural life cycles and being organically produced, without the use of harsh conventional pesticides and fertilizers.
I'm passionate about creating a balanced ecosystem. Meaning I prioritize protecting our soil (through practices like minimal tillage and composting), maintaining habitats for native birds and pollinators, and managing pests naturally.
Slow Flowers
The majority of the flowers found at grocery stores and most florist shops are imported and grown in South America, Africa and Europe. Slow local flowers means a significantly reduced carbon footprint. It also means your flowers are never sprayed with pesticides to meet USDA custom requirements. Best of all, you’re supporting a small business in YOUR community.
From start to finish, I grow all the flowers I use. Whether its from a seed, corm, etc. They are tended to with love. Then harvested at the perfect stage for you. Or they are then air dried and stored until they are placed in everlasting floral designs.
Since I grow seasonally, fresh blooms are mostly available March through October. I do try to extend the season when possible so please inquire if you have an event out of season so I can see what's available. I also have a great network of other local flower growers that I can reach out to source from. In the off season, I have dried floral arrangements to brighten up your home during the winter months.
Additionally, growing seasonally means I can't guarantee specific flower varieties or colors. However, I can most certainly give you the vibe you're going for using a specialized color palette and whimsical textures.
